although millions of dollars have been allocated to the project of maintaining corporate control over the milk crate by way of state sanctioned violence, the object still exists within a normalized culture of theft and appropriation. It has become a symbol of collective civil disobedience born from the milk crate’s universal usability and abundance. Exploring ideas of humour, digital counterculture, and the crate’s hyper-presence in society, Needle has designed a milk crate Instagram filter and overlayed the filter across various video clips of police officers posted to the internet.
