For Needle, traffic cones act as a motif within their experience of the rapid gentrification of their home-city Worcester, Massachusetts. throughout downtown worcester (and many other cities), the cone’s presence has continually represented a ritualistic precursor to violent development, the sectioning of space, and the illusion of barriers.
